The Western Vascular Society's 2008 Annual Meeting

Dear Fellow Members and Guests:        

We are pleased to invite you to the 23rd Annual Meeting of the Western Vascular Society, September 13-16, 2008 at the Silverado Resort in Napa, California.

The Meeting will be held at the lovely Silverado Resort in Napa.   The Silverado Resort is located in the heart of Napa Valley and California’s Wine Country and is an historic 1200 acre destination resort. A California landmark built in the 1870's, the Mansion is the cornerstone of the resort. Its gracious accommodations, restaurants and resort activities offer  a great deal to entice you to attend.

The resort is located just 50 miles northeast of San Francisco.    This beautiful location will certainly be a big draw for many members and their families.  Dr. Ronald Stoney, Chair of Local Arrangements, will be available to answer questions about the location and the Napa Valley area.

The Resident Forum will be held on Saturday afternoon, followed by the Welcome Reception that evening.  The Annual Meeting will begin on Sunday morning and run through Tuesday morning.  The afternoons have been left open for Members and Guests to tour many of the excellent wineries in the area or partake in the many amenities the Resort has to offer.  The Golf Tournament will be held on the South Course of the Silverado Resort on Sunday afternoon and the Tennis Tournament will also be held at the Resort on Monday afternoon. Members are invited to register for the optional tour to Beringer, Clos du Val and William Hill on Monday afternoon.  Pricing and general information about the tour is included in the enclosed brochure.  Members also are encouraged to contact the Concierge Desk at the Silverado Resort for assistance with tours to local wineries and other local and regional activities.

Enclosed please find Annual Meeting information along with a registration form and instructions on how to make your hotel reservations.  On-line registration will be offered to members who have access to the Internet and email.  Reduced rates of $255.00+ single/double at the Silverado Resort are available until August 13, 2008, so please make your reservations early. 

Please consider inviting friends and colleagues, including prominent Vascular Surgeons from Pacific Rim Countries and Canada, to attend this meeting as guests.  This is a great way to introduce them to the membership.  If you would like to invite a guest to the meeting, please send a brief sponsorship letter with the name of your guest to  Secretary-Treasurer Joseph Mills (jmills@u.arizona.edu).

Please Note:  Physicians wishing to attend the Western Vascular Society's 2008 Resident Forum and Annual Meeting need to be invited by a member of the Society.  Membes wishing to invite guests should send a written request to the Society's Administrative Offices or to the offices of WVS Secretary-Treasurer, Joseph L. Mills, MD.
